OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Actor Macaulay Culkin pleaded guilty Wednesday to misdemeanor drug charges in Oklahoma City and was given a one-year deferred sentence.
The former child star of the "Home Alone" movies pleaded guilty to possession of medication without a prescription and possession of marijuana. In addition to the deferred sentence the 24-year-old Culkin must pay $940 in court fees.
He spoke softly during the hearing and could not be heard in the crowded courtroom, he did not speak to reporters as he left.
Culkin was arrested last September after police stopped a car he was riding in and found more than a half ounce of marijuana and several tablets of Xanax, a prescription drug used to treat depression and panic disorders.
Assistant District Attorney Greg Mashburn says Culkin completed all requirements that included passing a drug and alcohol assessment.
