Some retired Tulsans are reaching out to our soldiers overseas. Residents at the Inverness Village launched a drive last month to help the local Blue Star Moms.
They collected more than 600 items, everything from sunscreen to crossword puzzles. Tuesday, all those items were turned over to the Oklahoma Blue Star Moms. Along with the items, dozens of personal letters of support from Inverness residents who experienced war themselves.
This isn't the first time the residents of Inverness have done something to help the community. Last December, they donated hundreds of toys to the Marine Corps' Toys for Tots drive.
