Saluting our veterans, yesterday and today. That's the theme for Floral Haven's 33rd annual "Avenue of Flags."
The Broken Arrow cemetery has a number of Memorial Day weekend events. Oklahoma Civil Air Patrol cadets re-enacted the changing of the guard at a model "Tomb of the Unknowns."
They went through special training at Arlington National Cemetery to make the re-creation as authentic as possible. There was also a reading of veterans who've been buried at Floral Haven over the past year.
Gayle Frazer says she brought her grandchildren to learn what Memorial Day is really about. "It's a very special day to honor all of the men who have given their lives and who have fought so that we can live the way that we live."
