For the second time in just weeks, an incident of road rage has gotten out of control and has ended with gunshots and injuries.
Tulsa Police hope the two incidents are just an anomaly and not part of a growing trend.
News on 6 anchor Scott Thompson explains that Tulsa Police say drivers are more aggressive on the roads every day. Tuesday night, a road rage incident ended with shots fired.
Two drivers pulled into a parking lot near 49th and Memorial, where one pulled a gun, shot the other driver and drove off. 25-year-old Hector Saldivar is expected to recover.
Corporal Steve Wood says the number of road rage incidents "isn't" going up, but the level of that rage is. “It's still not very common, but obviously we've had two here in the last two or three weeks, which is two more than I've seen in 23 years of police work. So it's obviously something that we're seeing more of and the level of violence in the road rage is escalating as well."
Wood says often folks don't think out the consequences of their actions when they react to an agressive driver.
