OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ It was another record-breaking day in Oklahoma City today.
The National Weather Service says the high temperature in Oklahoma City reached 98 degrees, surpassing the 95 degrees recorded on this day in 1953.
It was the second day the high temperature broke a record in Oklahoma City.
Yesterday, the mercury reached 97 degrees, three degrees higher than the record 94 degrees reached on May 20th, 1990.
An Oklahoma City wasn't the only place where the heat was on.
Daytime highs reached 90 degrees in Tulsa and Bartlesville, while soaring to 100 degres in Frederick.
Forecasters say a cold front is making its way southward through the northern Plains and could arrive in northern Oklahoma overnight.
The front could usher in thunderstorms and more seasonable temperatures.
