Rush hour problems on a busy Tulsa highway Friday afternoon.
A tanker is leaking paraffin wax and that has closed down one of the westbound lanes of I-244, along with the US highway 75 on-ramp to I-244 and the Detroit exit. Tulsa Police say the wax has made driving very hazardous because it's extremely slick.
The tanker was coming from Nebraska and a combination of the heated wax and Tulsa’s 90 degree temperatures likely caused the seal on the tanker to crack. The driver of the tanker says he thinks the wax started leaking near State Highway 20 and has caused at least one accident.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers say it could take hours, maybe days, to get it all cleaned up.
