OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Fort Sill Army post and the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant got high ratings from the Army during the decision-making process in the latest round of base closings.

A report released yesterday ranked Fort Sill 19th in military value out of 97 Army installations graded.

The Oklahoman also reports from its Washington bureau that the ammunition plant at McAlester was the highest rated of the Army's Ammunition Plants. The McAlester facility will even gain some work.

Army Chief of Staff Peter -J- Schoomaker said moving the Air Defense Artillery school from Fort Bliss, Texas, to Fort Sill is part of the Army's overall transformation effort.

Overall, the Oklahoma post is expected to gain about 3,600 jobs, most of them military.
