OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- An 11-ounce baby girl has lost her battle to survive.

Mercy Health Center officials say Kalea Lyn Allen Richardson died just before midnight Friday. She was born Tuesday afternoon at the hospital.

The child survived four days under a humidification tent in the neonatal intensive care unit. A breathing tube smaller than a piece of spaghetti pumped air into her lungs.

Sunday, the child's mother -- Sayre resident Deidre Allen -- reported the infant's last name as Richardson. Previously, it had been reported as Allen.

Belinda Rogers with the infant advocacy group March of Dimes says the smallest baby to be born in Oklahoma is a Tulsa baby who weighed 15 ounces. Had Kalea lived, she would've been the smallest.

The child will be buried in Sayre Wednesday afternoon.
