McALESTER, Okla. (AP) An inmate who was stabbed at the Jackie Brannon Correctional Center is being kept in Oklahoma State Penitentiary restrictive housing while an investigation is being done, officials said.
Rodney Adair came up to an officer about 10 a.m. Tuesday and said he needed help, prison spokesman Bob Jameson said. The stabbing occurred near the rear entrance of a unit door, Jameson said.
Adair, 44, suffered a puncture wound to his left side, which wasn't life threatening, the spokesman said.
The stabbing appears to have been done with a sticker, or an instrument that has a sharp point but no sharp edges.
Adair is serving a 20-year sentence for 1999 Delaware County convictions for embezzling rented property and uttering a forged instrument.
