NORMAN, Okla. (AP) _ Several law enforcement agencies spent several hours searching the shores of Lake Thunderbird for a wounded law officer before determining the report was apparently false.
Norman Police, Cleveland County deputies and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol searched around the lake Sunday night after Moore police heard a radio call claiming a state wildlife officer was shot near the lake about 6:45 pm.
The search ended after investigators determined no wildlife or other officer was missing and no other information had been received.
Norman police officer Jennifer Newell says the source of the original radio call hasn't been determined.
