McALESTER, Okla. (AP) -- Two women are suing Pittsburg County for injuries they say were caused by changes at the county courthouse during the trial of Oklahoma City bombing conspirator Terry Nichols.
Betty Crandell and Ellen Welch say increased security during the trial prevented them from using the handicapped entrance. Welch says she fell and injured her knee outside the front doors of the courthouse and Crandell says she fell and broke her arm when a gust of wind caught the front door.
The two say county officials were negligent for not providing access for the handicapped and both are asking for more than $10,000.
