A routine traffic stop becomes more than Tulsa Police expected early Tuesday. It happened on I-244 near Harvard around 12:30 AM.
An officer stopped a car for a routine violation. But a search of the vehicle turned up a loaded pistol, drugs, and $4,000 in cash. The driver was arrested.
Tulsa Police are still investigating.
Another routine traffic stop led police on a high speed chase. The suspect led officers through several east Tulsa neighborhoods around midnight.
It ended when the suspect ditched the car near East 27th Place and South 131st East Avenue and ran behind some houses. He was quickly found hiding behind a storage shed.
The suspect still wasn't ready to be taken in. Tulsa Police say he resisted arrest. He was soon cuffed and taken to the hospital for treatment of a head injury.
