We're right in the middle of severe weather season in Oklahoma and the language barrier can put some people in danger. So the News on 6 has printed up thousands of our weather brochures in Spanish.
They contain the same information as our English language brochures, including a map of our coverage area and details about tornado and lightning safety. The brochures will be distributed through businesses, shops, and non profit groups.
It's hoped they help keep people safe. Elizabeth Miranda with Plaza Santa Cecilia: "they hear a lot about it. The kind of like try to be aware of it. But they are not really familiar with it, a tornado."
Hispano De Tulsa newspaper is a co-sponsor of our Spanish Language weather brochures.
