Libby looks plenty comfortable now but she was found in an abandoned house several weeks ago, along with her mom and three other puppies. It's the same story for Ferde, Licorice and the rest of these dogs. They all found refuge through the Rogers County Humane Society, but if they were abandoned today, they wouldn't be so lucky.

Nancy Orjala, Rogers Co Humane Society: "we are no longer taking in animals because we just don't have a place to put them."

The agency is trying to place 65 dogs and they've simply run out of room. But the rescue calls keep coming.

Nancy Orjala, Rogers Co Humane Society: "in one week we could have picked up 38 puppies.

And when some folks here the humane society is full.

Nancy Orjala, Rogers Co Humane Society: "people will say well I guess I will just shoot it or poison it or dump it some place else and its heart-wrenching its absolutely heart-wrenching."

Until they're adopted, dogs like Chica, stay with foster parents. And that's one way you can help the Rogers County Humane Society.

Amy Arnett, Dog Foster Parent: "at one time we had 18 and it was lots of puppies."

Amy Arnett and her husband have been doggy foster parents for years. She admits at first, it’s hard to see them go.

Amy Arnett, Dog Foster Parent: "then you get the attitude that you're just pre-spoiling them for somebody else and its not hard you just bring em in and treat em like your own dogs."

Nancy Orjala hopes the humane society can raise enough money to get their own shelter.
But she says that's just part of the problem.

Nancy Orjala, Rogers Co Humane Society: "A shelter is not the answer a spay and neuter program is the answer its not an animal problem its a people problem."

Until it's fixed, its the abandoned animals that will suffer.
