OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ A blood-tampering investigation involving samples from children who live near the Tar Creek Superfund site could take two months to complete.

Allegations were made in November that blood submitted for a study into the levels of lead in children did not actually come from children.

Project workers have accused three co-workers of placing their own blood in vials labled as samples for Tar Creek children. An investigation by the Oklahoma Blood Institute in January indicated those allegations were unfounded.

The University of Oklahoma Office of Compliance recommended that an inquiry committee be formed. The committee began work on April 15th.

The committee will determine if an investigation committee is warranted.
