OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Governor Brad Henry says he's considering state Finance Director Scott Meacham for the state treasurer's office.

Henry said Monday a number of other candidates also are being considered.

He says he's still working on finding a successor to Robert Butkin, a Democratic treasurer who resigned in February after serving more than 10 years. Butkin's last day is May 31st.

Henry has said he hopes to appoint a successor as soon as possible to work with Butkin before he leaves office.

Butkin will become dean of the University of Tulsa College of Law June 1st.
