A Tulsa driver is in the hospital after another motorist fired a shot at his car, hitting him in the shoulder and barely missing his friend in the passenger seat. The passenger says the shooter had been driving recklessly just before he pointed the gun out the window and pulled the trigger.

As News on 6 reporter Steve Berg explains, it was a classic case of road rage.

The shattered glass on the passenger side of the car shows just how close the bullet came to the passenger himself, 29-year-old Curtis Carlock. "He was just riding' our butt and my buddy pumped his brakes and he backed off for a little bit and then he came back up on us and when he pumped 'em again, that guy just swerved into the other lane with oncoming traffic and stopped right in front of us."

Carlock says they tried to get around the faded blue Isuzu Rodeo but there was too much traffic on 31st Street. "And then started pointing at us, saying go into that parking lot, go into that parking lot and then I said no, he's probably got a gun, he's probably got a gun. Why else would he want to pull us in there, when there's just one of him and two of us."

Carlock says the truck then swerved into the lane next to them and he saw the gun. "And then he shot a shot and it went through the passenger window, and I ducked back and it hit my friend and he said, 'I'm hit, I'm hit, I don't know where but I'm hit.'"
"We didn't see the blood at first but yeah, he was bleeding a lot." 15-year-old Clayton Christian thought he was looking at a car wreck at first. "We came back and the guy jumped out and was holding his shoulder and that's when the cops showed up."

The suspect is described as a black male in his mid-20's. The victim says he was wearing a blue bandana on his head and that he had long-braided hair in the back. The vehicle is a faded blue Isuzu Rodeo. He was last seen westbound on 31st Street about 5 o'clock Monday afternoon.
