New developments in the case of explosive components found inside the Kansas home where Oklahoma City bombing conspirator Terry Nichols used to live.
The News on 6 has learned the FBI was tipped off about the explosives nearly a month before they conducted a search on the home. The FBI says the tip came from a former mobster who's an inmate in the same federal prison where Nichols is serving a life sentence.
The mobster failed a lie detector test, so investigators initially dismissed the tip and the idea that the explosives may be used for an attack coinciding with the 10th anniversary of the bombing.
Now, despite information on the explosives being true, FBI agents say there is no evidence that an attack was in the works on the April 19th anniversary of the bombing.
