MIDWEST CITY, Okla. (AP) -- The state Republican Party's annual convention is this weekend in Midwest City, starting Friday night with a banquet.

The party will elect a chairman and vice chairman during the convention on Saturday and hear from a possible 2008 presidential candidate.

US Senator George Allen of Virginia has been mentioned as a possible Republican presidential candidate and will be the keynote speaker.

State party chairman Gary Jones and vice chairman Dana Murphy are both running for re-election.
