The number of big rigs on the road is expected to double over the next 10 years.
That's why a former police officer and truck driver kicked off a new program Tuesday called Survive the Drive. Oklahoma law enforcement officials say in 80-percent of accidents between semis and cars, the driver of the car is at fault.
Survive the Drive is a videotape that teaches drivers the seven deadly mistakes they make around big-rigs.
They are driving in a trucker's blind spot, following too close, drafting behind the truck, speeding, passing, not understanding a truck's wide turns and stacking up traffic in both lanes.
