Tulsa Police need your help to find a man who tried to abduct a teenage girl after pretending to stop and help her when she had car trouble.
It happened last Wednesday on I-44 near the 41st Street exit. The 17-year old was headed home from work, just after midnight. She noticed a problem with her car and pulled to the shoulder. That's when a man she thought was a Good Samaritan, pulled up behind her.
Tulsa Police say he pretended to work on her car, and then made sexual advances toward the girl. When she refused he dragged her into his car, the girl struggled and got away. Tulsa Police Cpl Mark Mears: "Obviously he had evil intent there's no doubt about that and she did very well managing to escape."
The suspect is described as a white male in his early twenties, 5' 8", and 145 pounds. He has dark brown hair, a light complexion, a thin mustache, goatee and sideburns. He was driving a dark blue, newer model SUV or mini-van.
Tulsa Police say if you have car trouble, lock the doors and stay inside. If someone stops to help, don't get out. If you don't have a phone, ask them to call for help.
If you know anything about this suspect call Crimestoppers at 596-COPS.
