CHANDLER, Okla. (AP) -- The Iowa Tribe is the latest to announce plans for a casino and resort complex in the Oklahoma City area.
A business partner for the tribe says it will develop and manage a casino, hotel and golf course on land on Route 66 about seven miles west of Chandler. The casino is to open in early 2007 with 1,500 electronic games, 40 table games and a poker room.
The casino is the fifth announced within 30 miles of Oklahoma City. The Chickasaw Nation plans to upgrade its casinos near Newcastle and Norman; The Citizen Potawatomi Nation is building a casino and hotel near Shawnee; and the Sac and Fox Nation is planning a casino, hotel and movie theater near Chandler.
