STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) -- Oklahoma State University officials won't be disciplining two OSU police officers who helped basketball coach Eddie Sutton into his vehicle just minutes before Sutton crashed in an alleged drunk driving accident.
A statement released Wednesday by the university says the officers acted appropriately and no further review will be conducted.
After Sutton was involved in an accident that injured him and another driver, OSU police told Stillwater officers that they had seen Sutton stumble and fall in the Gallagher-Iba Arena parking lot on February 10th.
Blood tests on Sutton after the accident showed he had nearly three time the legal limit of alcohol in his blood system.
Sutton was charged with drunken driving and has stepped aside as coach for the rest of the season and has said he'll seek alcohol treatment.
OSU Police Chief Mike Robinson says the officers didn't give Sutton special treatment.
