BENNINGTON, Okla. (AP) -- A murder suspect who escaped from the Bryan County jail and evaded authorities for 12 days is back behind bars.

24-year-old Kevin Leon Cross was nabbed early Thursday morning about four miles east of Bennington in Bryan County.

Sheriff Bill Sturch says Cross was caught climbing out the back window of an elderly man's home after dogs followed his scent to the house.

Cross escaped from Bryan County's main jail February 11th after he and two other inmates overpowered a guard and fled on foot. The other two inmates were captured within hours.
