OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The names of dozens of women who have died from physical abuse and sexual assault in Oklahoma are read during a ceremony at the state Capitol.

Religious leaders and state lawmakers joined in condemning violence against women.

State Representative Rebecca Hamilton urged ministers, priests and rabbis to speak out against violence against women in their pulpits.

Hamilton read statistics that say murder is the number cause of death for women under 30 in Oklahoma and that a woman is raped every five or six minutes.
