GROVE, Okla. (AP) _ A Grove man died early Sunday morning after losing control of his pickup truck on a steep hill, striking a bridge abutment and crashing into several trees.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 46-year-old Winford Back was taken to the Grove General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The patrol says Back was was southbound on a county road about two miles north of Grove when he lost control of his truck. The vehicle then careened into a bridge abutment, went down a steep embankment and struck several trees before coming to rest.
The patrol says Back was NOT wearing his seat belt.
