A traffic sign on a Tulsa bridge was damaged Friday.

Tulsa Police say a dump truck crashed into the bridge Friday morning. Officials say the truck was headed south on US Highway 169, and slammed into the 36th Street North bridge. The force of the accident knocked the bed right off the truck.

The driver had to be rescued from the truck. Tulsa Police Sgt. Chris Elliott: "for unknown reasons to the driver, his bed was in the raised position and the bed did strike the 36th Street North bridge."

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation says after evaluating the bridge, they determined the accident caused no structural damage, just cosmetic damage to the sign.

The bridge never had to be closed to traffic.
