NORMAN, Okla. (AP) _ A University of Oklahoma fraternity that was shut down after a pledge died of alcohol poisoning may be reinstated.

OU President David Boren says the Sigma Chi fraternity must meet a set of conditions to reopen its Beta Kappa chapter. Those conditions include a business plan for chapter operations and activities, a full review of students who want to join the chapter and fully agree to comply with OU's plan to fight alcohol abuse.

The fraternity was shut down after 19-year-old Blake Hammontree died of alcohol poisoning in September 2004.

Hammontree had a blood alcohol content of .42 percent _ more than five times the amount considered to be legally drunk.
