OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A man from Miami, Oklahoma, was denied a new trial in the rape and murder of an Alabama woman.
The attorneys of convicted murderer Jeremy-B-Jones say they wanted a new trial because the judge erred when he refused to move the trial because of publicity surrounding the case.
The attorneys also argued that Jones gave incriminating statements to investigators while they supplied him with extra food and telephone privileges while he was in jail.
Jones is on death row for the rape and slaying of 45-year-old Lisa Nichols of Turnerville, Alabama.
He is also charged with killing a Georgia teenage girl and a Louisiana woman.
