Tulsa has hit double digits for murder cases and we are barely into the second month of the year.

Tulsa homicide detectives are investigating a double murder after two people were found shot to death in a midtown Tulsa apartment early Friday morning.

News on 6 reporter Omar Villafranca says firefighters checking on reports of smoke coming from an apartment at 47th and Braden, ended up finding the city's latest murder victims.

A man and a woman were found shot to death in the kitchen of an apartment at the Windsor Village. They are identified as 24-year old Natee'che Bell and 31-year old Billy Traylor.

Detectives are now working the 10th and 11th homicide cases of the year. Tulsa Police Sgt Mike Huff: "this is a rapid amount of time to get to this number. This is overwhelming for us right now, but we are getting some help so, that's good."

Tulsa Police say a trash can was intentionally set on fire, but it didn't burn the apartment or spread to nearby units. Investigators on the scene did say the front door was damaged, a clear sign of a forced entry.

Crime scene investigators searched the apartment for clues and detectives could use some help. Tulsa Police Sgt Mike Huff: "right now we need someone to call in and tell us what's going on in this neighborhood and any altercations if they know about with these victims or possible suspects."
