McALESTER, Okla. (AP) -- State environmental officials say water in the Adamson Rural Water District near McAlester is safe to drink despite a brown to black color.
The water has been discolored for more than two months, but passed safety tests by the state Department of Environmental Quality.
The cause of the discoloration isn't known and several residents say they still won't drink the water despite the test results.
