OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett says he'll run for re-election, and may run for Congress.
Cornett says he won't decide whether to run for Congress in the Fifth Congressional District until after the mayor's race. Filings for mayor begin January 27th and the election is March 7th.
Candidates for the congressional seat have until June 7th to file.
Two former Oklahoma City mayors say Cornett should decide which office he wants and run for that position. Ron Norick says it could be dishonest with the voters to run for mayor while planning to run for another office at the same time.
And former Mayor Kirk Humphreys says his advice to Cornett is to make up his mind.
