Oklahoma City Police search for suspected illegal immigrants, agent wounded

More than a dozen suspected illegal immigrants ran from a van during a traffic stop on Interstate 40 in western Oklahoma City Tuesday, triggering a police search for those who fled.

An agent of the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service was injured during the incident, which occurred about 7 a.m.. Details were not immediately released, but the injury was not believed to be life-threatening.

By 9 AM four of those who fled had been captured.

Law enforcement officers were searching in the area of a housing addition.

The van was eastbound on I-40, just south of Yukon, when it was stopped by police.
