ARDMORE, Okla. (AP) -- A would-be robber who said "please" got no money from an Ardmore convenience store when the clerks refused his request.

Police say the robber first threatened two female clerks with a knife, but one pulled out a miniature baseball bat and ordered the man to leave.

Sergeant Kevin Woods says the man then put the knife back in his pocket said - quote - "can I please have the money?"

Woods says the clerk refused and the man left the store.
