Quick thinking for a Tulsa woman who fended off a man trying to rob her with a knife in a restaurant parking lot.

It happened at the Cracker Barrel Restaurant at 31st and Memorial in Tulsa. Police say the suspect slashed at the woman through her car window and demanded money.

She fought back. She says her attacker seemed drunk and unsteady on his feet, so she hit him. "I got the knife away from him, threw it out the car and he took off back down that way, back behind the businesses."

Misty refused to give up her cash, but did pay a price for fighting back. She was stabbed in the hand and leg, and she needed stitches.

Thanks To Misty's description, Tulsa Police spotted the suspect on the Broken Arrow Expressway and gave chase.

51-year old Dane Stegner was arrested after he slammed into another car and a cement wall.

Stegner faces a variety of charges including armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.
