OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Governor Brad Henry is urging Oklahomans to observe a statewide Day of Prayer Sunday.
The governor issued an executive proclamation earlier this week declaring January 8th a Day of Prayer because of the wildfire outbreaks across the state.
Henry says he's asking all Oklahomans to join him in prayer for victims, loved ones, exhausted firefighters, first responders and rain.
Unseasonably high temperatures and high winds continue to trigger the wildfires. The conditions are expected to continue through January.
Statewide, grass fires have killed two people, burned across more than 363,000 acres and destroyed more than 220 homes and businesses since November 1.
