WEWOKA, Okla. (AP) -- Ranchers across Oklahoma are concerned about feeding their cattle after devastating wildfires burned thousands of acres of grazing land in recent days.
Wewoka cattleman Glenn Williams looked into his pasture Tuesday and saw cattle roaming on charred land.
Williams has purchased some hay and is awaiting word on whether he will be able to lease some pasture land.
His story is common in Seminole, Hughes, Bryan and several other counties blackened by wildfires.
OSU Extension director for Hughes County Aubie Keesee says his office is being flooded by telephone calls from people in search of assistance.
