OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ A coalition of physicians and businessmen announced support today for tort reform efforts aimed at eliminating frivolous lawsuits.
Officials from the Oklahoma State Medical Association and The State Chamber held a news conference to complain about medical malpractice lawsuits. They says this litigation is driving a wedge between doctors and their patients and is limiting access to health care.
The Oklahoma Trial Lawyers Association says earlier reforms have dramatically reduced the number of medical liability lawsuits in the state and additional reforms are not needed.
