Tulsa hasn't had a full time orchestra in more than three years. Now, a new group wants to change that. They are part of the new Tulsa Symphony Orchestra.
They dropped by Special Kids Day Center in Tulsa Wednesday to spread a little Christmas cheer and introduce themselves to the city.
The new orchestra would be one of a kind, where musicians would be involved in every day operations, including fundraising.
The group's director Tim McFadden says they're trying to raise $1-million by January 1st to get the new orchestra off the ground. "We've had a tremendous outpouring of support from people across the community so the more money we get by January 1, the better kick off we have. But we're getting there, we're getting there."
The plans include hiring about 70 musicians with a $7-million operating budget.
