The number of Tulsans riding the transit system hasn't dropped even though gas prices have.

A record number of people started taking the bus when gasoline prices reached $3 a gallon in September. But the number of passengers didn't decrease when gas prices dropped.

The city says buses are carrying 30,000 more passengers a month than they were when gas first hit $2 per gallon.
