TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ Tulsa's football team had the highest graduation rate of the state's three Division One universities, but still fell below the national average in an NCAA report on graduation rates Monday.
According to the NCAA's Graduation Success Rate Report, 62 percent of players who began school at TU between 1995 and 1998 graduated within the allotted six years.
The mark was higher than Oklahoma's 51 percent and Oklahoma State's 61 percent, but shy of the national average of 65 percent.
The school's men's basketball team had a 46 percent graduation rate that also fell short of the national average of 58 percent. It was also the lowest rate among 14 sports at the school.
At 92 percent, TU's men's cross country/track team and women's soccer team had the school's highest success rates.
