Tulsa Police detectives working the case of a missing woman say they have a person they want to question. While tips have started coming in, the missing woman's family believes she might already be dead.

News on 6 reporter Emory Bryan spoke with Adriane Barker's grandparents.

Alvin and Anna Barker can't believe the change in their grandaughter. After a wonderful childhood, they say she struggled with mental illness in college, and started using drugs a few years ago. Now, she is missing and her family believes she might have been killed.

"It's a shock in a way," says Alvin, "but yet we were afraid it was going to be a bad end for her, maybe not an end, but her life certainly wasn't happy at all."

But her grandparents say Adriane's life didn't start that way. She was a bright student - all A's. When she was 11, she wrote poems for them.

Now 26, Adriane was last seen December 8th, at a house near 56th and Yale. But police say this woman might know her whereabouts. Her name is Erin MacKool and police want to question her about Adriane. Adriane's grandparents say they've done all they could.

"We've gone through a period of a couple of years where we've tried to help her out of emergencies time after time after time," says Alvin.

But now they fear the worst, even as they keep her Christmas stocking hanging, hoping she will knock on the door.

If you know anthing that can point police to Adriane Barker or Erin MacKool, you're asked to call Crimestoppers at 918-596-COPS.
