Tulsa has 70 new "Linnaeus Gardeners." The first ever Linnaeus Gardeners training class graduated Wednesday afternoon.

The volunteer group went through an intense 10-week training program that included a test every week. They will be the "go to" people once the gardens open next year, giving tours and maintaining the garden.

Barry Fugatt with the Tulsa Garden Center: "We just give them a good basic study of all the areas of home horticulture.”

A new training class will start in a couple of months.

The Linneaus Garden will be a teaching garden; it's being built on the grounds of the Tulsa Garden Center and is scheduled to open this spring.
