OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Six nonprofit arts organizations in Oklahoma will be getting grants from the National Endowment for the Arts.
The Tulsa Oratorio Chorus will receive $10,000 to support a performance of Brahms' Requiem; the Choctaw Nation is being awarded $20,000 for a Labor Day Cultural Project and the Choctaw Nation will get $30,000 for to establish a folk arts program.
Also, Lyric Theater of Oklahoma is getting $18,000 to put on the musical Beauty and the Beast; OK Mozart in Bartlesville gets $15,000 for the annual OK Mozart International Festival and the Tulsa Opera will be awarded $22,500 to produce an opera by composer Richard Strauss.
