Lincoln County undersheriff dies during surgery

CHANDLER, Okla. (AP) -- Lincoln County Undersheriff Lee Story has died of complications related to heart problems.

Sheriff A-T Brixey says the 73-year-old Story died Wednesday during heart surgery at an Oklahoma City hospital.

Brixey says he and Story came out of retirement last year when Brixey ran for and won election as sheriff and he hired Story as undersheriff.

Story began his career in law enforcement in the 1980s after retiring from Tinker Field. He worked as a deputy in Lincoln County and as an investigator for the district attorney in Lincoln and Pottawatomie counties.

He's survived by his wife and two children.

Funeral services will be Saturday afternoon in Chandler.
