OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The US Supreme Court refuses to hear an appeal from a Missouri man who was given six life sentences for kidnapping and sexually abusing a 10-year-old Oklahoma girl in 2003.
Without comment, the court Monday declined to hear the case of Presley Earl Hood.
Hood was living in Branson, Missouri, when he took the girl from her home near Stillwater.
According to documents in the case, he had taken the child to Missouri a few times with the permission of the girl's mother. When the mother refused to allow him to take her again, he kidnapped her in May 2003 and fled to Texas.
He was convicted in federal court in Oklahoma City of kidnapping and crossing state lines to engage in sexual acts with a child. He received a life sentence on each of the six counts against him.
