25 Oklahoma Marines reported for duty Thursday in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The News on 6 first told you about the Anti-Tank Training Company last week.
The Marines will soon be headed to Iraq for about a year but first they have to go to Boston and California for training.
They got to have lunch with their families Saturday. One Marine we talked to said "thoughts of his family" are what will get him through this deployment. Marine PFC David Ohse: "I'd rather go fight over there than have to fight over here. At least my family is safe."
Even though they're leaving soon, the Marines will get to come home for Christmas.
