A tragic accident claims the life of a Tulsa County woman. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol tells the News on 6, a husband and wife were driving a van, and it had a mechanical breakdown on US highway 75 near 106th Street North Thursday night.
Other drivers stopped and helped them push their van off of the highway. The couple lives nearby, and as they were walking back across Highway 75, the woman was hit by a car.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper Jason Weilert: "The driver of the vehicle said she did not see them. The lady that got hit was wearing black. It's dark out and she said she didn't see a thing until just a second or right at impact."
The driver of that car was not injured, neither was the victim's husband.
