GROVE, Okla. (AP) -- A man wanted for the shooting death of his father in Grove is now in custody in New Mexico.

Police say Mark Thurman was arrested in a motel in Raton, New Mexico, and is in jail pending extradition.

Thurman is suspected of killing his father, Bob Thurman, Tuesday afternoon at his parent's home in Grove. Officials say Bob Thurman was killed by a gunshot wound to the head.

Mark Thurman had been picked up by his parents on Monday from the Missouri State Penitentiary where he was released on probation after serving time for burglary.
