Freedom Bell visits Tulsa

The Mental Health Association has been a part of Tulsa for 50 years now.

To help celebrate their anniversary, the National Mental Health Association's "Freedom Bell" is on display in Tulsa. The bell was cast from chains and shackles that once bound those in mental institutions.

With better treatments, that cruel practice was finally stopped. The bell will be on display at the Tulsa Historial Society at 2445 South Peoria Avenue until November 30th.

They will also hold a special bell ringing ceremony on December 1st.
